1. Market Focus
Virtual Angel will aim to meet the needs of 8-12 education in its initial stages. In time, and based on the success of our initial launch we plan to expand to include both higher education, elementary and even the adult professional market in time.
2. Offerings
In conjunction with the Virtual Angel software and the biometric monitoring watch, we will be offering online technical support to all buyers. A guardian will be available to assist with set up and personalized programing of the device to meet the personal needs of the child. Our hope is that with collaboration we will be able to learn and improve our product and provide seamless updates to our buyers.
3. Buyer
Our current target market is Education. For our initial launch we are looking for the Virtual Angel to be purchased by parents to support their child, or by Behavioural Interventionists working with a child. We recognise that this technology could be of great use to adults who have grown up on the spectrum and not received early intervention and support and hope to expand to include them in the near future.
4. Global Target
Initially our target would be North America where we are seeing increasing rates of diagnosis of Autism. As this is an initial launch, the software would be created in English and use the social recognitions cues of a North American culture. With time and success, this could be expanded to include variances from other cultures and translated in to different languages. There is great growth potential for Virtual Angel depending on the success of our initial venture.
5. Market Status
Currently there is no software that targets social interaction support for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Individually the technology for bio monitoring exists, as well as Google Glass and recognition software, but no one has combined all of these together for the purpose of creating a virtual behavioural interventionist. We are unique in that capacity and are poised to change the lives of thousands of students living on the spectrum in this value added opportunity.
6. Competition
Virtual Angel will integrate seamlessly in to the student’s life and be no disruptive to a classroom setting. Indeed, no one will know that the student is using Virtual Angel as all communication happens via text or symbolic messages on the glass. Text messages from the monitoring bracelet to parents and teachers can be sent to any device, such as a phone or tablet, integrating with existing technology without the need for install. A regular phone or Wi-Fi signal is sufficient. As we intend this venture to meet more of an educational/medical need, we are not in direct competition with any for profit vendors. Much like Jump Math has, we hope to work in collaboration with industry leaders for non-profit charitable status to improve the life of students and people living on the spectrum.
